Our 2024 IDR Program Chairs, Igor G. Elyash, DO, and Victoria L. Schlanser, DO, FACOS, FACS, with the support of the ACOS In-depth Review Committee, led by Nelayda Fonte, DO, FACOS, DFACOS, have produced a top-notch, comprehensive board exam review course.
The IDR is our annual general surgery board review course, and is accredited for both American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Category 1A continuing medical education (CME) credits and AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. The 2024 IDR offers eligible participants the opportunity to earn up to 32 AOA Category 1-A or AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
IDR sessions provide a deep dive into the topics covered in the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS) and American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) General Surgery certification examinations. Our panel of presenters will discuss the purpose and focus of the exam as well as what examiners are looking for. The intent is to be a thorough review of the examination topics as well as an update for the general surgeon in practice in order to be able to practice in a safe and efficient manner. Participants in this course will find it a helpful experience in preparing for certification or recertification examinations.*
The 2024 IDR curriculum focuses on the topics covered on written surgical board examinations with the specific intent of being a thorough review of a wide range of topics, delivering a comprehensive update for the general surgeon in practice. The seminar will finish with an optional mock oral board session on Sunday, April 14. This interactive workshop is intended to assist physicians preparing to take their Oral Board Examinations.
