Jennifer Son, MD (she/her/hers)

Jennifer Son is a board-certified general surgeon and a fellowship trained breast surgical oncologist. She is a breast surgical oncologist at MedStar Georgetown and MedStar Montgomery. She is well versed in treating both benign and malignant breast diseases. She has trained throughout the country in Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco. She has trained at tertiary care centers where she has seen the most advanced disease affecting a diverse set of patients. She has conducted multiple research projects from invasive lobular cancers, intraoperative radiation, nipple sparing mastectomies and male breast cancer. Breast Cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting women and it is very treatable if caught early. She is an advocate for patient education and closing the gaps for disparities in the community as well as throughout the world. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, society of Surgical Oncology, American Women Surgeons and serves on many panels and committees. She loves teaching surgery and being a mentor to other future surgeons.
