Dr Wilson is a veteran of the US Navy, where he served as a physician and flight surgeon with both the Navy and the Marine Corps with stationing overseas and several international deployments. His time with the Marine Corps required completion of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification, and he has continued to instruct for the Chicago Committee on Trauma through the Ameican College of Surgeons on a frequent basis. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, and later completed internal medicine residency at Midwestern University in Chicago, IL. While working as an ICU nocturnist, he was honored to become clinical faculty at his alma mater Touro University. Subsequent to this, he returned to fellowship to complete training in infectious diseases and critical care medicine, training at both Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) and Cook County Hospital (CCH), for which he has published and reviewed academic submissions. During this time, he became medical staff in the department of hospital medicine, working as a hospitalist during his three years at RUMC. He also holds an instructor position with the Rush University Medical Center Advanced Trauma Training Porgram, preparing military personnel on mass casualty scenarios and Basic Disaster Life Support, with a focus on bioterrorism. He now works at NCH in the NorthShore system as an intensivist while continuing to publish and review infectious diseases literature and sits on the antibiotic stewardship and infection prevention and control committees. He enjoys rock climbing, running, and spending time with his wife and toddler when not vacationing in 70 degree fluorescent landscapes.
