Dr. Mehta is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She earned her medical degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at Franciscan Health and received advanced training in endocrine surgery through a fellowship at UT Southwestern. She also holds a master’s degree in medical sciences from Boston University. Dr. Mehta serves as Site Director for the Medical Student Surgery Clerkship and the Surgery Residency at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital. In addition, she serves as Team First Lead for the Quality Enhancement Project and as a member of the Clinical Competency Committee and the Resident Selection Committee at UT Southwestern. She also serves at the Wellness Director for the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern. She is involved with developing UT Southwestern’s Emergency Surgery Robotics Program. In 2020, the American Osteopathic Foundation named her the Outstanding Resident of the Year in Surgery.
